Since March 2020 most of us have been confined to a new life – working from home (WFH), which initially looked like something we were waiting for. However, after the initial charm of WFH waned off, life hasn’t been easy.

The excitement to WFH was short-lived. Challenges creeped in slowly and were far too many to culminate into a book! What were they and how were they handled or better still, how could they have been handled marks the misery of WFH that is still on.

Unless there is a compelling reason, employees want to avoid WFH if the offices are made safe to work. Some of the compelling reasons are having a small baby to take care or a physical challenge to move.

Of course, there are also those who fear the pandemic. The fear initially was immense but has died down as we have learnt the art and science of dodging the virus – by vaccinating, maintaining the physical distance as much as practicable, diligently wearing a mask and dining in open-air places as they are naturally ventilated.

So what went wrong with most of the employees with WFH.
